I have recently expressed to everyone in our house (including my closest friends and those who care enough to give me a present this Christmas) that I will be buying myself a new phone before Year 2008 ends. I’m doing this in the hope that I wouldn’t have to shell out the money myself, but so far, all my efforts seem futile and it seems I have a bigger chance of being struck by lightning than being surprised by my relatives. The phone of interest is the new Nokia E63, released this December. Below is a picture of the phone.
You might ask why I would like to have this phone. Well, there are two considerations. First is the price: P14,200. I find the price a little steep still but the fact is, business phones that are this trendy usually go as high as P20,000. Second consideration is connectivity. My main use for this phone, aside from calls, texts, and calendar function (yes, I don’t play games on a mobile) is by using it as an Internet modem to connect to either Smart or Globe’s 3G network.
The phone also comes with a 110 MB internal memory and you can choose among two colors: ultramarine blue and ruby red. The camera and the speaker will be reviewed at a much later time when I finally get my hands on a unit. I am at crossroad though as I really like that FM transmitter function of an N78. And then there’s also E63’s more handsome brother, the Nokia E71.
I’ve asked the personnel in one of the stores in SM City Lipa (and I tried in SM Batangas as well) and they confirmed that the Nokia E63 will be available this December here in Batangas.
