The Best of Batangas Food Trip (Part 2: Goto)

After dropping by the 2nd Lomi Festival held at the Lipa City Plaza Independencia early this morning, the team went to Rosario for a commitment. So tamang-tama, pagbalik ng Lipa, gutom na kami.

We’re supposed to have a three-part special today but we’ll have the third part next week. After the lomi highlight this morning, we had another Batangueño favorite — the goto.

As part of the celebration of Lipa City’s 64th Foundation Anniversary, the team dined in at one of the most frequented restaurants in the city — Gotohan sa Barangay in Brgy. Antipolo del Norte.

Syempre, bida ang goto dito so go kami for it. Then one sizzling pusit on the side. How do you like your goto? I like it with more than the average number of squeezed calamansi. The more calamansi the merrier ang type ko. I ordered gotong laman for Joel and Jackie, not knowing that they like the original one — goto laman loob (innards). Oops, sorry guys! 🙂

What completes your goto experience? Sad to say, I veer away from drinking softdrinks, eh yun pa naman ang masarap na panulak when you eat goto. Don’t forget to ask for chopped onions. Just chew mint afterwards.

Two orders of goto will do, then order another dish if you want options. One order of goto costs P50.00 then a cup of rice for P10.00. The sizzling pusit costs a hundred bucks and it’s up to you if you would have softdrinks pa or extra rice. All in all, we spent P258.00 for our lunch. With such hearty meal, sulit na sulit ang nagastos.

This ends the Best of Batangas Food Trip Part 2. Watch out for the third and last installment — the bulalong Batangas! 😉
