The year 2012 came with a lot of questions. Coming in first was this: will the world end on December 21st?
But it didn’t. And I’m about to write my probably second to the last article for 2012.
It has been another great year for WOWBatangas, primarily because of YOU! Whatever we have done for 2012, we did them all to make you happy and to return the goodness you’ve been extending to us for the last three or four years.
Let’s take another look on the things that highlighted our calendars the whole year round.
In January
And we start each year with the fiesta celebration of Lipa City.
In February
Love month. Kami ay nagmahalan. Haha. We released our collection of couple shirts available anytime of the year on WOWBatangas Store.
In March
We covered our first pageant for 2012 – Binibining Tanauan. The crowned candidate, Kristel Guelos, won this year’s Mutya ng Batangas Kalikasan.
In April
We climbed Mt. Maculot and reach the Rockies! It was a Holy Week slash summer endeavor na hindi planado pero panalo. 🙂
In May
It was our first time to cover the events of Sigpawan Festival in Lemery.
In June
We will never miss out the happenings in the merriest festival in Batangas – Parada ng Lechon in Balayan!
In July
Pormalan at seryosohan sa State of the Province Address ni Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto.
Then came JR and Gerlie’s quick trip to Sepoc Island with the Provincial Tourism people. Buong team na ang bumalik nung October.
One important cultural event we should not miss – the Sublian Festival (this one is in Batangas City).
In August
Lipa Academy for Math and Science (LAMS) hosted the 1st Lipa Academy Fencing Trophee held at Mt. Malarayat Golf and Country Club last August 18 and 19.
In September
Ever ran on the runway? Approximately 2,000 runners joined the first Batangas Runway Run in Fernando Air Base, Lipa City organized by the Air Education and Training Command of the Philippine Air Force.
In preparation for the Film Fest, one of our managed events for the Ala Eh! Festival 2012, a Film Clinic with Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Mr. Ed Cabagnot was held on September 8.
The 1st Batangas Provincial Photography Workshop followed a week after. This was like a prelude to the Ala Eh! Festival Photo Contest. The resource speakers were from Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation (FPPF) – Mr. George Cabig, Mr. Amir Alba, and Mr. Elwin Noche.
In October
A week before Undas, we went to Eagle Point Resort in Anilao, Mabini and Sepoc Beach in Maricaban Island, Tingloy. The trip was really fun and we’re grateful we were able to experience the fine service and hospitality of the resort staff.
In November
We discovered an authentic Japanese restaurant called Minori-Tei at First Philippine Industrial Park in Sto. Tomas. 🙂
In December
Syempre, hindi kami mawawala sa Ala Eh! Festival 2012. We got ourselves busy with the Photo Contest, the Film Fest, the Photo Exhibit, Photobooth, and our own Trade Fair booth.
Just like any of you, we knew we needed to take a break. So after a year of bringing you these exciting events and new interesting discoveries, we took some time off a week before Christmas and traveled to the world-famous island of Boracay!
It has been a great year for us here in WOWBatangas. Whatever we do, wherever we may be, remember that all these things happen because of your endless support in our endeavors.
Here’s hoping that the coming year would be better than any of the past not just for our team, but for all of us Batangueños and Filipinos in general.
This has been your WOWBatangas Team in 2012. See you in 2013 folks!
