Fuel Supply Shortage now felt by Batanguenos

gas shortageFuel dealers in the province are not only affected by the petroleum shortage and price freeze but also by the collapsed of the Kumintang bridge where fuel transporters used to pass.

A number of gasoline stations the province no longer operate 24/7. In fact a Shell station in San Jose has started reducing its workers’ working hours because 4 of its gas pumps cannot operate since it has no supply. Reportedly they have not received a supply of diesel since last week.

Meanwhile, another gas station in Batangas City have been waiting of V Power and premium gasoline supply for the last three days. Deliveries of fuel products in the province will be severely affected because alternate routes in Batangas do not allow the passage of heavy trucks and so fuel transporters have no choice but to use smaller trucks with little capacity.

The Kumintang Bridge collapsed during the typhoon Santi onslaught. Public Works and highway official said it will take them about a year and not three months, to finish the new bridge construction.
