And he is always speaking to you. But are you really listening? Too often when we pray, we just do the talking. But like any good conversation, prayer should be a two-way traffic. It must be a dialogue between God and you. It must be an experience of both talking and listening to God.
Basic to prayer is time and place. We must allow time for our encounter with God each day. If you’re too busy, the only way to prayer is prayer itself. You must find time for it no matter how hard it may be. Pag gusto, may paraan!
Finding the place is another important basic element. If you can find a quiet corner in your house, or maybe in the privacy of your own room where you can spend some moment with the Lord, that is already a blessing. But of course the church, oratory, Blessed Sacrament chapel or vigil room provide a perfect place for prayer. You need a quiet place for solitude, for it provides you not only spiritual health but also emotional well-being. Most importantly you must realize that God can only be found in silence.
God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer. ~Mother Teresa
Sabi nga, money can buy you almost everything except heaven!
