Archbishop Ramon C. Arguelles presided over the simple blessing of the new pastoral center located at the former convent of the Missionary Catechists of the Sacred Heart (MCSH) in Sabang, Lipa City. The new Pastoral Center now houses the offices of the Lipa Archdiocesan Commission on Missions and Migrants, Commission on Family and Life, Archdiocesan Commission on Youth, Lipa Archdiocesan Social Action Center, Archdiocesan Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, Lipa Archdiocesan Divine Mercy Apostolate, the Office of BEC, and Pondong Batangan Community Foundation, Inc.
“I really hope that priests, especially the parish priests, would make it a point to drop by the Pastoral Center at least once a week,” admonished the Archbishop during the monthly assembly held after the Holy Hour at the Chapel of St. Francis de Sales Major Seminary in the morning before the afternoon’s rite of blessing. ”This is our communication center. This is where you get the latest in the pastoral life of our local church.”
During the mass he bared future plans to renovate the old MCSH Generalate House, where the Chancery Office would be transferred. This he said would also house the Matrimonial Tribunal.
“While we are being look up to as a vibrant Archdiocese,” he mused, “we are among the last to have a pastoral center not adjacent to the Cathedral.”
