Thanks to its vast, fertile lands, excellent agricultural output, and continual effort to preserve its agricultural prowess, the Municipality of Rosario in Batangas deservedly maintains its distinction as The Rice Granary of Batangas.
The Sinukmani Festival underscores this feat as sinukmani- a sticky rice-based merienda is still the star for the festival’s 2024 installment. The Rosario LGU also aimed to invigorate its being the rice granary of the province through activities such as Bigasan sa Barangay that empowered big and small agricultural entrepreneurs’ trading capabilities.
Alongside the tasty treat, this year’s festival also highlighted the Agri Trade Fest where other homegrown agri-businesses showcased their products.
Municipal Mayor Leovigildo Morpe, in an interview with WOWBatangas.com, stressed the importance of investing in and nurturing Rosario’s agricultural industry, “Kailangan nating mai-consider ang sariling atin at para makilala pa ang ating mga produkto”.
