Dec. 11, Saturday — WOWBatangas team welcomes OJTs from Quezon. Yes, all the way from Lucban, Tayabas, Sariaya, and Candelaria. This all-girl group is composed of Communication students from Southern Luzon State University.
The day started with the getting-to-know phase as we exchange questions and responses on how we view Quezon and what they can say about Batangas. It was about two weeks ago when the team learned about their interest in applying for our on-the-job training.
“Ha? Ang layo ah!” — was our initial reaction. But then, we thought of the most appropriate project for them – wowquezon.com – Quezon’s premature version of WOWBatangas.com.
Everytime we accept students to undergo their OJT program with us, we conduct initial training and workshop for them before giving them projects to work on for the hours they would spend with us.
JR oriented them with the online publishing tool we’re using. Then I discussed basic tips and guidelines on website content writing while Gerlie did the basic photography training. Of course, Alva did the basic Adobe photoshop discussion.
It was through the Internet that they have learned about our OJT program. Through our mother website, likhainternet.com to be exact. If you haven’t realized yet the power of the web, think again. 😉
It’s always our pleasure to meet students who dig what we do. And it has always been a great opportunity to share our knowledge, skills, and the experiences we’ve gone through since the birth of the team.
great!
