Batangueños Condemn Human Trafficking, Violence Against Women and Children

Women and children are considered the more ‘fragile’ members of the society. Republic Act 7610 protects children from any form of abuse; Republic Act 9262 safeguards women against violence; Republic Act 9208 shields an individual from human-trafficking.

While the government and social action groups continue to condemn human trafficking and violence against women and children, people who get involved with such mistreatments should vividly learn their rights. When they know they are protected, they should have the courage to speak up before it’s too late.

Below is the press release from PIO-Batangas of the recently concluded Walk for Life event held in Lipa City.

Human Trafficking at pang-aabuso sa kababaihan at kabataan kinondena sa Batangas

Lipa City – Sa ikatlong pagkakataon, nagkaisa ang mga Batangueño na muling manindigan laban sa human trafficking at violence against women and children sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang paglalakad o Walk For Life noong ika-15 ng Disyembre 2010.

Ang Walk for Life ay sinimulan sa isang banal na misa na pinamunuan ni Archbishop Ramon Arguelles at Msgr. Boy Oriondo.

/Edwin V.
