“When John heard in prison of the works of the Messiah, he sent his disciples to him with this question, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?” Jesus said to them in reply, “Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the good news proclaimed to them…”(Mt. 11:2-5)
The signs of the coming of the Messiah are unmistakable. They bring glad tidings to all. The Messiah fulfills the promises of great blessings. He is not someone who makes false promises and speaks empty words. God is true to His promises and His words are true. Truly this season brings to us reasons hope. God has never abandoned us. He stays by our side to set us free from the clutches of evil. And in Him are all goodness and blessings.
What makes you sad? What is weighing on your mind. What burdens you at this very moment? Jesus wants to set you free. He wants you to enjoy life and live it to the fullest. Your life has a meaning. It’s just that you may not be seeing that meaning as yet. Search for that meaning because it’s worth the effort. And even if you haven’t found it for now does not mean your life is over. There’s a thrill in searching for the reason why you are here now.
Christmas brings us profound meaning. If Jesus in his divinity and majesty has descended to our lowly planet, His very birth in our midst brings all the answers to the question of our meaning and worth. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.” God loves you. That’s a fact. And His love for you is unconditional. Try to feel it. Will you accept His love?
