Eagle Point Resort, a First-Class Destination for Divers and Weekenders in Batangas

What defines a perfect escape from your daily routine? We found a more than interesting answer to this by having the best time at one of the most well-known resorts in Anilao, Mabini, Batangas – Eagle Point Resort.

Well-known is actually an understatement as you can consider Eagle Point as the prime diving resort in Anilao. Located in Brgy. Bagalangit, the 5.36-hectare resort lies on the southernmost part of the Calumpang Peninsula openly facing Balayan Bay.

Like what’s stated in their official website, “it is a breathtaking piece of nature where the land meets the sea”, supporting what I had written the other day that Anilao is magnificent both over and under. This is a haven for divers and weekenders.

The resort

Eagle Point Resort (2)Similar to most resorts we had featured before, Eagle Point was once a privately-owned vacation villa of Atty. Ramon J. Quisimbing and his family. Later on, it was gradually developed to being the largest resorts in Anilao where world-class service and facilities await the guests.

Eagle Point has different types of accommodations which guests can choose from. The one where we stayed at is in the Terrace Hotel. The hotel’s 32 deluxe terrace rooms have balconies all providing an outstanding seascape. Eight superior rooms are also located in the hotel, and just like the terrace rooms, are equipped with air-condition, toilet and bath, and satellite TV.

The largest accommodation they have in the resort is the Casablanca which is a 3-bedroom condominium with 3 bathrooms, air-condition, living room, and satellite TV. Isn’t it nice to wake up in the morning and you have and ostentatious view of the sea? That and the basic amenities can make your stay comfortable and extra-special in the other Eagle Point accommodations such as the Villa Suite, Cottages, Cottage Suite and Native Cabanas.

Indoor extravagance

Eagle's Nest bar and restaurantThe Main Core and the Eagle’s Nest bar and restaurant are two facilities where you can experience utmost hospitality of the resort staff. The Main Core in the upper part of the huge structure is where you are initially welcomed by the front desk officer and a few steps below is where Eagle’s Nest is situated. It boasts of high ceiling furnishings and an impressive fusion of strong wood and delicate lights and décor.

The food? What else can I say about the menu? Of course, it matches the top-notch facilities of the resort. It’s amazing how one can take pleasure in a four-course meal while taking glances of the immaculate exquisiteness of the beach. There’s a buffet at the restaurant almost every weekend particularly when there are a lot of guests. The line-up of dishes varies as most of the people coming to the resort are composed of expats and foreign tourists.

By the way, their diving packages have meal inclusions and as for those who plan to stay longer at Eagle Point, you can have the privilege of requesting for food the chef can cook for you.

Moreover, Eagle Point has four multipurpose function rooms for corporate events like business meeting and team building. As for team building activities, Sepoc Beach is where all the outdoor games are done and fun bonding moments with colleagues are created.

There’s also a boutique where guests can purchase beach and resort essentials like swimwear, flip flops, sun protection and toiletries. It also serves as the resort’s souvenir shop.

Outdoor facilities

swimming pool - Eagle Point resortAre you a novice when it comes to diving? Don’t worry if you still lack courage to dive into the depth of the vast sea. Eagle Point has a reef pool and it’s like a huge aquarium that’s 12 feet deep where you can swim with sea creatures – fish of different species and sizes, a 12-pound grouper (lapu-lapu) they named Gus, and a few baby sharks.

This reef pool will prepare you for what’s out there under the real sea – the bigger, deeper underwater exploration of Anilao. Worry not because there are professional diving instructors to assist you and make sure you learn all the safety measures you need to know.
Eagle Point’s other features include the Double-Level swimming pools with slide, the Southend swimming pool (for big groups who want a little privacy as it is located on the farthest portion of the resort), butterfly park and playground, aviary, and tennis court.

Sepoc Beach Center

It’s like the ‘annex’ of Eagle Point where you can enjoy the natural wonders of the island of Maricaban where Sepoc beach is located. In Sepoc beach, you can do activities like kayaking, snorkeling, beach volleyball, or try to conquer the hiking trail so you can have an astounding view of the nearby islands and the pristine beaches.

kayaking in Sepoc BeachSepoc beach is a 20 to 30-minute boat ride from eagle Point. If the waves are kind of rowdy, you’re in for one thrilling ride just like what we had. Sepoc Beach Center is furnished with the basic facilities you would need to make your stay in the island comfortable. It has a dining facility, toilet and bath, and a few hammocks where you can take a few minutes of snooze as the sound of the waves lull you to sleep.

Eagle Point has a strong commitment to marine life preservation. Aside from the fish and baby sharks they have in the reef pool (these creatures were rescued from some unfortunate events and they had to keep them until they’re strong enough to go back to the sea), there are baby turtles being nurtured and protected in a swimming pool the management had built in the Sepoc Beach Center.
