Have you witnessed a pigeon racing event? If you think this one’s interesting, then visit Mataasnakahoy on Sunday, May 15 at 12:30pm for the inaugural release of the racing pigeons by Racing Pigeons of Mataasnakahoy breeders.
What is Pigeon Racing? Read the description below as lifted from wikipedia.org:
“Pigeon racing is the sport of releasing specially trained racing pigeons, which then return to their homes over a carefully measured distance. The time it takes the animal to cover the specified distance is measured and the birds rate of travel is calculated and compared with all of the other pigeons in the race to determine which animal returned at the highest speed.”
For all the breeders of the Racing Pigeon of Mataasnakahoy (RPM), below are the complete program details for the pigeon race on Sunday.
Date: May 15 (Sunday 12:30 noontime)
Venue: In front of the Municipal Hall
Inaugural release of racing pigeons from RPM breeders to be headed by
Honorary Advisers, Edgar Pili, Ricky Magpantay and Ferdie Dimaano.
Date: May 15 (Sunday 1:00 – 3:30pm)
Venue: Residence of Edgar Pili, Brgy. Upa
1:00 – 1:15pm Registration of all the members of RPM
Chairperson – Ricky Magpantay & Gie Galicia
1:15 – 1:20pm Opening Prayer by Brother & Konsehal, Ricky Magpantay
1:20 – 1:30pm Opening Remarks by Honorable Konsehal, Ferdie Dimaano
1:30 – 2:00pm Racing Pigeon Show, the first “Racing Pigeon Achievers” in Mataasnakahoy, showcasing an array of proven racing birds from our very own RPM Adviser, Edgar Pili. (Chairperson – Edgar Pili and Harvey, President of Bagwis)
2:00 – 3:00pm A talk and open forum on “Conditioning Racing Pigeons”
