[Video] Sigpawan Festival 2012, Lemery’s Petition for Cityhood, Plus More Side Stories

And so we’re down to our last installment for the series of posts for Lemery’s 150th Founding Anniversary. These are the last notes on what happened and what we had experienced during the stretch our of events coverage.

You’ve read about the Binibining Lemery Global 2012, the BangKarera and the Bikini Open, and the Sigpawan Festival Competitions.

It was a significant celebration for the Lemereños not only because it’s the 150th anniversary of their valued town but also because this year, the local government is up to petition for Lemery’s cityhood.

The video below contains our interview with Lemery Vice Mayor, Hon. Norly Solis. He stressed out that what they are bound to achieve is a result of the collective efforts of all Lemereños combined.

We’d also like to thank Ms. Tina of MPDC and the other members of the LGU for accommodating us. They’re very nice and welcoming. They made our first Lemery events coverage a comfortable one.

Sigpawan Festival 2012 - Lemery - VideoWe’ve been doing this for the past 3 years but it feels like it’s always the first time. Doing events coverage does not seem easy all the time. Fortunately, this coverage that we did in Lemery was less hassle, it was comfortable, we’re not dead tired and first time ‘to, walang nagkasakit after staying there for 3 days.

Special thanks to Ms. Liza and Ms. Kaye of Heart of D’ Ocean Beach Resort. We realized na hindi kami nagutom ever sa Lemery. Sobra sobra pa ang chibog. Haha.

From his speech during the opening program of the Court Dance Competition, Lemery Mayor, Hon. Larry Alilio pointed out cooperation as the key to progress. “Tayo ay magkaisa at makikita natin ang tagumpay kung tayo ay nagkakaisa,” Mayor Alilio emphasized.

For what this progressive town has achieved and what it is about to claim, truly, cooperation among all of its people paved the way for colossal achievements to happen.

To Lemery, thank you for the warm welcome. Until next time! 😉
