A Note to the Batch 2011 Graduates

Graduation. Oh how long have you waited for this to come?

After about 16 years of enduring the sometimes difficult but often exciting life of a student, here comes the moment when all those memories will go back to your head and probably jerk a tear from your eyes. You made it. Despite having a terror professor and complicated subject requirements, you made it.

It’s the time of the year when goodbyes are really painful. You get to part ways with people you see almost everyday for how many, four or five years? When graduation is nearing, enemies patch misunderstandings; secretly in love classmates take chances of confessing their feelings; friendship ties grow stronger than ever.

But there are quite a number of exciting things incorporated in every graduation. That means you passed all your subjects which at times you thought is among life’s impossibilities. That means you are cleared from all your obligations in the institution even if you try to miss a career guidance seminar of the Guidance Office. That means you are off to a greater challenge – getting employed (or jumping to college for high school graduates).

Lately I’ve been seeing graduation pictures flooding my Facebook newsfeed. Adding to that are friends counting down the remaining days before the big day. It’s so nostalgic! I could still clearly remember my own graduation preps – how my classmates and I would just bum around the campus, reliving all that we’ve been through together. It’s both happy and sad. But more of rewarding.

To the Batch 2011 graduates, we at WOWBatangas would like to extend our warm congratulations for a job well done. This isn’t the end of everything. You have to be armed with better skills and stronger spirit because the world out there does not promise a smooth sailing ride all the time.

Smile and be grateful. There’s a good life out there for you, you just have to keep the faith. Thank the people who had been part of your journey as a student. Your graduation day is the perfect time to tell them how much they mean to you. Lastly, bring back the glory to the Big Guy up there. If not for Him, you would not be able to surpass and triumph all the hurdles in the academe.

CONGRATULATIONS, BATCH 2011! Cheers!
