You can feel it if you try to put yourself into the shoes of the woman caught in adultery. Imagine the shame, guilt and confusion caused by such public scandal. Look at the mirror nga muna. But let’s try to look at the mirror now and see not how we look before men and women but how we appear before God.

Being judgmental on others does backfire. Those who easily find faults on other people may take a momentary pleasure at his or her prejudices and biases. But it will catch up with him or her. He or she will somehow realize sooner or later that he or she is not a saint after all. We are all sinners before God. Good thing that the story did not end here.

God looks at us with mercy. That fact however changes the whole picture now. God is rich in mercy. Wow! Try to read John 8:1-11 and you’ll see. God is a God of compassion. Jesus really saves. And we all need to be saved. Pero salamat. Salamat at sa kabila ng ating pagiging makasalanan…his mercy triumphs over our misery. That’s the good news.

You also need God’s mercy. Open your heart to him with confidence because his eyes are gazing on you with compassion.
