Tourism is one of the major topics of the Batangas Development Summit (BDS) 2017 held yesterday, January 27, 2017 at the Lima Park Hotel, Malvar, Batangas. BDS is an annual conference which highlights the business, tourism, economic, and social developments in the province of Batangas. Now on its ninth run, it is the only conference of its kind in the province of Batangas.

Among the speakers and panelists for the session on “Bright Spots in Tourism” are Ms. Rebecca Villanueva-Labit, Department of Tourism Regional Director for Calabarzon, Beth Angsioco Feliza Taverna Café of Alliance of Taal, Provincial Tourism officer Atty. Sylvia Marasigan, and Mr. Saturnino G. Belen of Lima Park Hotel.

The summit, organized by FAITH (First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities) School of Management, was first held in 2002 as a biennial event dubbed as the North Batangas Summit. It has gained significant attention through the years as well-known and respected personalities from different fields share their knowledge and insights to government and business leaders, members of the academe, community workers, and students.  For the past three years, the summit had an average of 500 participants with members of the congress, governors, mayors, top business executives, and university presidents in attendance.
