The recent Saturday, September 4, was a ‘sentisabado’ for the Twitter world. #sentisabado became a trending topic in Twiterria. If you are one of the active users of this social medium, following these Twitter maniac celebrities, you probably know what I mean.
Filipinos on Twitter became sentimental last Saturday, as they recall old times, “when life was simpler” as socialite and TV host Tim Yap tweeted. I was out of Twitteria that day, but I had my own share of that ‘sentisabado’ mode with high school friends.
I went out for a coffee date with three high school friends, two of them I’ve known for like an eternity. We reminisced the times when we were like teenyboppers who pulled the meaning of life out of simple kilig moments and the little things that made us happy back then.
We’ve done this here in WOWBatangas for quite a number of times now. We’ve recollected our young memories stucked in old movies, favorite childhood games, the food that we are fond to eat then, items which used to be the most-prized possessions some years ago. But where are these memories all heading to?
Things get a little crazy as time gets a little rough for some. There are people who seemed so attached with the old ways that they fear of embracing transformations. But admit it or not, most of us are living the now time, practicing new ways of surviving a day or two. We carried on with the changes yet we still value the past which paved the way for everything we have now.
How sentimental Batangueños are? A lot. And I’ve discovered this through your comments in our recent posts. Being sentimental is not always equivalent to being lonesome. Being sentimental could even heighten happiness for most of us. Tell me honestly, you love that certain feeling which comes with nostalgia.
