This election may be on the smallest scale but this is where the ethical and responsible governance should all start. We don’t have the power to control the people who aspire for a position. If you know someone who you think is not deserving of any position in the local government, the lack of power to discard his goal may be disheartening.
We can’t choose the line-up of candidates but we have the power, no matter how small that is, to choose the right ones to be the leaders of our barangay and the SK federation.

Unfortunately, it’s not the same as in finding the right man or the right woman to marry. You can not just leave it to your heart and how you were swept off your feet with his wooing or her charm. This isn’t just about you. The election is about the entire people in your community.
After all, a peaceful and productive community is what we all aim for.
