FAITH Colleges turns 17 with 4-day celebration


FAITH Colleges (First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities) marks its 17th year as an innovative institution with a diverse roster of events for students, faculty, and stakeholders with the theme “Bright Minds, Brave Hearts.” 

FAITH Colleges is an institution of higher learning and research located in the City of Tanauan in Batangas that provides a culture of research and academic excellence, as well as social and environmental awareness. 

Slated to happen from September 7 to 10, 2017, the anniversary will have various fun competitions for arts and technology; quiz bees; seminars; and even a concert featuring the four-piece rock band, Silent Sanctuary.

At the Astra Music Jam, talented singers from among the FAITH community will share the stage with the famous rock band. 

Silent Sanctuary is a 4-piece band known for their melding classical music and rock music. Some of their songs include,”Pasensya Ka Na”; “Sa’yo”; “Ikaw Lamang” and “Bumalik Ka Na Sa Akin”. The band has already released five studio albums since its foundation in 2001. 
 
Every year, the Basic Education Schools features a particular country in an extensive history, arts, culture exhibit prepared by the students. This year, FAITH Colleges puts the spotlight on India. Second Secretary Nidhi Choudhary from the Embassy of India will be conducting the Country Talk that is anchored on India@70.
 
Another highlight is the design thinking workshop and entrepreneurs’ forum spearheaded by Brainsparks Philippines (Brainsparks), an innovative startup hub located within FAITH.

Staying true to its commitment to strengthen linkages between the academe and government, there will be a “Partners Appreciation Day” with academic partners, industry partners, local government unit heads,  and representatives from the Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education, and other government agencies. Among the highlights of this event is the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding among the collaborators of the Manila-Laguna-Batangas Research & Innovation Consortium. The MLB consortium aims to lead and drive the studies of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) south of Metro Manila. Led by Department of Science and Technology, the MLB consortium is made up of pioneer members Asia Pacific College, University of Perpetual Help System-Laguna, University of the Philippines-Los Baños, Batangas State University, Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas, and FAITH Colleges.
