Fil-Am Jason Farol Lands 3rd Placer in ‘Duets’ Finale (We Heard He’s Batangueño!)

Filipinos went full force in supporting Jessica Sanchez in American Idol Season 11. Now, have you heard of Jason Farol? Yes, he’s another Fil-Am who got one step closer to winning another singing competition in the US, the ‘Duets’.

The finale just reached its conclusion an hour earlier as this post is being weaved and Jason landed third.

Jason Farol, 23, was born and raised in California to Filipino parents, according to our source, TheFilipinoConnection.net.

His mother, Rowena Moore Piedad, a nurse, is from Caloocan City while his father, Eliseo G. Farol Jr., an architect and contractor, was born and raised in Rosario, Batangas. Oh, I saw his dad in Episode 3 when Jason was rehearsing his song for that week, ‘Hallelujah’. Thought his dad was giving reassurance that they’re all supporting Jason in chasing after his dreams.

Duets is a singing competition [and] reality television show that premiered on May 24, 2012 on ABC. The show stars Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Robin Thicke, and Jennifer Nettles as mentors who will search for singers to duet with them as they perform in front of a live studio audience. Jason Farol - Filipino-American - Duets - BatanguenoKelly Clarkson (American Idol Season 1 champion) picked Jason to be in her team and the former seemed to have helped the Fil-Am singer and charmer a lot throughout the competition.

Jason had quite a rough time in the first few weeks as the mentors often point out his lack of confidence on stage. But being a Filipino (and having a Batangueño blood in his veins), Jason did not falter.

He survived eliminations and went on to being in the final three. The first ever ‘Duets’ grand winner is 25-year-old J Rome of Laurel, Maryland and 32-year-old John Glosson of Douglas, Georgia is the runner-up.

Still, this is a great opportunity for our kababayan, Jason. At least he’s became a household name because of ‘Duets’ and with his looks and talent, for sure, doors in the music industry will open for him.

Congratulations, Jason! 🙂

By the way, here’s Jason Farol and Kelly Clarkson with ‘Mercy’. YouTube video uploaded by DuetsAmerica.
