Batangas State University- The National Engineering University and the Local Government Unit of Lemery, Batangas initiated “LemeREAD Book Donation Drive: Ala eh, Basahe!”
In a Facebook post last June, BatStateU-NEU shared that “your gently used books “makes a lot of difference. The activity promotes literacy and love of reading among children ages 4-12 years old by providing access to books for those who may not have the means to purchase them. Additionally, decluttering homes is therapeutic and gives unused books more purpose and meaning. The donated books would then be forwarded to select public elementary schools in the municipality.
LemeRead accepts good-condition educational materials that are copyrighted within the last ten years. The program runs until July 19, 2024. Donors may drop-off book at BatStateU The NEU, Lemery Municipal Hall and Xentro Mall- Lemery.
