The best way to start your day is acknowledge His goodness. Our Blessed Mother exemplifies what a true praying person is. Whenever we call on God, our thoughts and feelings are turned to Him. We may be beset with so much troubles and pains but when we pray, our focus is not on our miseries but on the goodness of God. Kaya nga pag nagdarasal ka, di dapat na palaging sinasabi mo sa Diyos na malaki ang iyong problema; sa halip dapat daw ay sabihin mo sa iyong problema na mas lalong malaki at higit na dakila ang iyong Diyos!
Magnify the Lord instead of magnifying your woes. Look at Him instead of your miseries. Fix your eyes on Him and not on your tribulations. When you look at the Light, your shadows fall behind you. But when you focus on your shadows all the time, your shadows seem to be monstrous phantoms. Learn to look at the brighter side of life. If what seems to befall on you is nothing but darkness and sorrow, have courage. It is not the end of you. You only need to realize that you are never alone in the battle. The Lord is there by your side. Recognize His abiding presence, His immense power, His unfailing love.
Acknowledge His greatness, not yours. You may be tempted to take refuge in your resources and lean on your own understanding. When you do that, be prepared to face humiliation. God has His own mysterious ways of bringing you back on your knees after a long battle against your own pride and sense of over-self-reliance. You must rely on Him and not on your own capacity. As Scripture says, God is greater than our hearts. It also says that His grace is enough for you. Hindi naman masamang magtiwala sa sarili. Kailangan din iyon. Basta wag lang sobra. Pero mas kailangan nating magtiwala sa Diyos nang walang pasubali at walang kondisyon. Only after that can we see the greatness of the Lord.
