“Admitting you’re weak is probably one of the bravest things you could ever do.” — Divine Huntress
Have you ever been so down that you cannot see what other people has been telling you that everything would be okay? It’s human nature to feel pain and endure suffering. But where does healing come in?
I searched for the most fitting quotation about healing and make it my Facebook status for today. Last week was hell week for me and I was kind of hesitant to share my personal ordeal with the rest of the world. But writing has been one of my smartest ways in dealing with things – happy or unhappy. And maybe through this online sharing, I would be able to touch another hurting hurt and help that heart to heal and breathe life again.
When you’re hurting, the wholeness of you becomes more vulnerable to pain and other disappointments. Pain, it materializes from different sources, different circumstances, for different reasons. At times, we try to avoid the truth for it says everything about us and our unfortunate situation. Pero lagi bang masakit ang katotohanan? Hindi naman. Depende kung paano mo titingnan at tatanggapin ang sitwasyon.
When you know you have the greater share of faults, you blame yourself when everything that’s beautiful seemed to die away. And then the pain continue to stab you with even more pressure until every piece of your self cry for help.
How do you get over it? Surround yourself with people who truly, truly cares. There are people who just ‘mind’ but do not really ‘care’. The more people asking if you’re okay, the harder it gets to convince yourself that you are okay, because it triggers the painful truth happening inside you. Find the right time to speak up and the right people to share your weariness with – people you know who can be bluntly honest with you.
From a dear friend to me: “I think you have to give it time. Not everything in this world is an instant noodles.”
At may sagot si Hippocrates dun: “Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity.”
Before I end this and start my own way to healing, here’s another lifting take on healing from American pianist and songwriter, Tori Amos: “Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it.”
