Saan at Paano Mag-apply ng GSIS emergency o calamity loan?

May P 5 bilyon ang kabuuang pondong inilaan ng GSIS para sa emergency o calamity loan program para sa lahat ng myembro nito na nasa National Capital Region at 24 probinsiya na deklaradong nasa state of calamity matapos ang pananalasa ng bagyong Ondoy.

Nagsimula ang applicationfor calamity loan noong October 1 at tatagal hanggang katapusan ng buwan.

Ayon kay GSIS Batangas Branch Manager Ireen Dimaano, ang mga qualified applicants ng calamity loan ay yaong mga permanente at contractual employees ng ibat-ibang government agencies na may E-card at nasa serbisyo na ng di bababa sa tatlong taon, residente ng idineklarang calamity area at walang delinquent loan accounts.

Ang loanable amount ay P20,000 at babayaran sa loob ng tatlong taon na may 8% interest. Ang existing emergency loan lamang ang babawasin sa makukuhang calamity loan.

Ang pagpoproseso ng GSIS calamity loan ay sa loob lamang ng tatlo hanggang limang araw.

Bukod sa kiosk na matatagpuan sa GSIS branches, maaari ding mag-apply ng naturang loan sa mga kiosk na matatagpuan sa ibat-ibang malls tulad ng SM Mega Mall.

Matatandaan na nauna nang nagkaloob ng emergency loan ang GSIS noong taong 2006 sa mga naapektuhan ng bagyong Caloy. (Ronna Endaya Contreras, PIO Batangas City)
