Irritated over the littlest of things at work or even at home? But you know you won’t be having your period anytime soon.
You don’t know what to do when in fact, there are tons of things to do.
Bruno Mars and the monkeys are constantly singing at the back of your ears (like what’s happening to me right now as I’m typing these lines – literally) with the motivational song — The Lazy Song.
You need to get up and launch yourself off your bed but you keep on hitting the snooze button. I’m pleading guilty here, for about an hour snooze.
Things do not seem so bad themselves but it’s you who just keep on over-thinking and then all of a sudden you feel like pasan mo ang mundo.
Okay, enough said. You’re just like everybody else and all these situations are normal. I’m betting you know that. Stress, burnout, anxiety — these are monsters who attack you without you even knowing.
You’ve read a lot on how to deal with these things, so did I. Sometimes the tips are too overwhelming sa dami nila, making the situation a little more unbearable.
Then let’s make things simple.
Count one, two, three.
ONE. Acknowledge the source.
Is it because of work? Or the growing clutter in your house? Or your insensitive girlfriend/boyfriend?
Unfortunately, there are times when you don’t even know where are these all coming from. You don’t even know what caused your anxiety that’s why you don’t know how to address it.
TWO. Detach yourself from the world.
NO, I don’t mean anything to put your life in danger, that’s ugly. Go away from some time. Like for a day or two. You’re not running away, you’re just looking at things from a distance.
When you are somewhere unfamiliar, you tend to let your guards down which is a liberating thing to do. You open yourself to the world and let all the negativity and bad vibes out of your system.
THREE. Do these things.
You know what’s stressing you out, you’ve decided to spend some time alone and away from everyone, now do these things:
> Get a pen and a paper and scribble down EVERYTHING that you want. Yung mga hindi mo masabi sa iba.
> Let the music heal your soul. Sounds familiar? But this one can do great help.
> DON’T OVER-EAT. Just because you’re stressed, it doesn’t mean you have to indulge yourself to excessive eating. It may make you as-of-the-moment happy but your subconscious might be sneering at you. Ha!
> Run. Literally. Running gives your blood the pump it needs and your body will be thanking you for it. A little exercise is probably all you need after all.
> Take time to smell the flowers. It’s up to you how you take it, literally or figuratively. Stress, burnout, anxiety are often caused by colossal things that leave you over-thinking. So this time, appreciate the little things.
Different studies revealed that stress may lead to serious health problems. Don’t wait til it becomes chronic. Take time every week to relieve your stress issues.
