Amid the controversies of pre-need companies being bankrupt, the Social Security System (SSS) expressed assurance to its pensioners and members of its financial stability and that they have enough funds to last until 2030. This is according to Corazon Balagbis, SSS Batangas City manager, in her recent interview with Barangay Frontline.
This assertion is to ease the worries of SSS members and pensioners that the agency might suffer insolvency and the burden will be put on their shoulders. Balagbis claimed that SSS is stable and they should still feel secured for the agency still has the capability to give salaries and housing loans to its members and sustain pensions for its pensioners.
Furthermore, SSS will be on its 52nd year of service on September 5, 2009. The celebration will be divided into three parts: pensioners’ day, family day, and sports fest of its employees.
To end, the SSS office was transferred from C. Tirona St. to the National Highway in Alangilan, Batangas City.
