So you know what would be the trends on clothing, makeup, and accessories for 2012.
How about your hair? It’s a big thing when it comes to looking good; well admit it, especially for women nowadays.
Of course who wants to be so messy with his or her hair? We all wanted a hairstyle that’s updated and manageable.
Some would go to a salon just to make their hair style in with the latest trend — dye it, cut it, style it the way they want to.
Now, what are the popular haircuts, styles, and colors this year?
Since I want a new hair style and color, together with Ms. D, I end up visiting some salons in the city and asked what would be the hair trends for this year.
Now here’s what we’ve learned from hairstylists we’ve talked to about men and women’s hair style and color trends as the year 2012 started:
Hair Style/Cut for Women
Since January, some stylists observed that girls still prefer either the long layered “octopus” or shorter bobs. Mia of Ystilo Salon, Robinson’s Place Lipa branch, shared that some want a haircut that’s as short as possible, like the pixie haircut which is popular among Hollywood celebs.

For styles, they say more women now would likely opt to have curly hair than the usual rebonding, it may be in a digital (for girls who like big curls or beach waves) or traditional process of curling hair.
For those who can afford or who are dying to have curls like that of a Hollywood celebrity, try the Brazilian blowout that Ms. G wants. And if you like that just-got-out-of-the-bed look, have the beach waves which Ms. D wants through digital perming.

Hair colors? Gold, copper, reddish are in this year but Weng of Going Straight, Robinson’s Place Lipa branch suggested you make it brighter.
Hair Style/cut for men
Not as hard as styling a woman’s hair. Dina of Bruno’s Barbers said that their customers are mostly students from the nearby schools and the younger ones opt the “2×3” haircut or the student haircut.

The stylists we have interviewed shared that this haircut will dominate this year.
Fauxhawk
Straight shag
For men’s hair color, brown and dark brown are still in.
Oops, these are just some tips from the salons we have visited, you can still look up on what styles or cuts you want for your hair.
And one thing more, in styling your hair make sure to get advice from the experts first as they know better what cut, style, or treatment is good for your hair type. 🙂
