Planted decades ago, the rubber trees of Brgy. Gulod, Calatagan, Batangas line up the road as if saying come with us and we’ll take you to an adventure. It’s one of the more scenic natural spots in the province, and I always stop to take a picture whenever I pass by that highway going to the Calatagan Resorts, and even go there just to see them when I’m nearby, like say I have a business meeting in Balayan. That’s how alluring those trees are for me, and from my searches online, I’m only one of few who thinks so.
Here’s a video I took of the trees just this summer. The leaves have fallen because of the heat, but look at those trunk and branches! Each one is unique and as intricate as human art.
Seeing one large rubber tree also reminds me of the Lord of the Rings movies. Maybe there’s something there. Calling up Batangas filmmakers! Set one of your scenes that are romantic (or creepy, I don’t mind) right here.
are these white bark trees, rubber trees what must be their scientific name, the genus and family( species) – I have also a video of these fantastic looking trees in barangay Gulod way going to Calatagan, Batangas Resorts – We were there last Friday, April 26, 2019 – at AQUARIA!
Hi, those are ficus religiosa (sacred fig trees) 🙂
