“Catch Me I’m Falling Project” Mitigates Water Shortage in Alitagtag Public School

Through the efforts of Alitagtag Local Water Utilities Administration Chairman Mr. Ronnie Ong, its board of trustees, and the Alitagtag Water District, “Catch Me I’m Falling” Rainwater Catchment Project came into fruition and had its inaugural rites yesterday, September 9 at Pinagkrusan Elementary School.

The program’s beneficiary, Pinagkrusan Elementary School, had its fare share of water problems especially in times of disasters (volcanic emmission/eruption, typhoons) and calamities. Through the Catch Me I’m Falling Project, the institution’s water issues have been mitigated. Moreover, teachers of the elementary school were especially grateful since the new water catchment facility also reinforces the water supply on the campus’ 2nd floor rooms.

In an interview with WowBatangas.com, Mr. Ong emphasized the importance of educating the youth on the great, positive effects of water conservation. “Sabi nga nila, ang tubig ay buhay…ang pagututuro ng tama at pagtitipipid ng paggamit ng tubig sa pamayanan lalo’t higit sa mga kabataan ay mahalaga para magkaroon sila ng kamalayan kung paano maging bahagi sa pagpapahalaga at maging bahagi ng solusyon sa nararanasan nating kakulangan sa tubig.”
