Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) is still keeping the alert level 2 for Taal Volcano.
Classes on most parts of the country are starting today, but DepEd Batangas has suspended the classes on critical areas around Taal Volcano.
These includes classes on Pulo Elementary School in Talisay and Kalawit Elementary School in Balete. In a report on ABS-CBN news, PHIVOLCS resident volcanologist Alan Loza said they would only allow the opening of these schools once the alert will be down to alert level one 1.
Meanwhile, PHIVOLCS Director, Renato Solidum, Jr. shared these occurences in an article on GMANews.TV: “There is only a magma intrusion in Alert Level 2. When we raise it to Level 3, an eruption is imminent within weeks; for Level 4, within days.”
