The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Southern Tagalog Region has just completed a total of 188 school building projects.
According to DPWH Secretary Victor Domingo, CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) Area is one of the typhoon affected regions last year with numerous damaged school building structures that’s why during the last quarter of the previous year he instructed all the field engineers to speed up the implementation of on-going school building projects in the area.
DPWH Region 4-A has received a total of P161 million for the implementation of 194 school building projects. Two of which are still on-going while four are in pre-construction phase.
Meanwhile, for 2009 programmed P6.8-billion worth of projects, DPWH Region 4-A has completed a total of 677 various infrastructure projects.
