Hindi na umuulan pero maulap pa rin ang kalangitan dito sa may Lipa. According to Inquirer.net’s latest report, Typhoon Santi has left the province already and is headed to South China Sea. No word yet on the passengers from the Batangas port. I’m pretty sure no one is allowed to sail to Calapan City, Romblon, and other souther provinces, as of yet. Waiting for further updates from the news websites. Wala pa ring kuryente dito at wala ring dial tone ang telepono.

As of 5:00 PM today, typhoon Santi (MIRINAE) is located “230kms East of Infanta, Quezon with maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. It is moving West Southwest at 24 kph.” Perhaps this is the first big storm that will actually hit the Batangas area this year, and PAG-ASA has already raised Signal No. 3 over the province.
Reminders to fellow Batanguenos—be prepared. It is better to be safe than sorry. Read our previous article on how to prepare best when a typhoon is coming. Based on the prediction of the country’s premiere scientists, Bagyong Santi will come right at us. Below is the predicted track of the typhoon over the next few days.

Here are the list of things I am going to do myself:
1) Charge all battery-operated gears like laptops, cellphones, PSPs, etc. Also rechargeable flashlights and lanterns.
2) Clean the backyard, secure pets and anything you don’t want to be blown away by the winds.
3) Prepare food which can be consumed readily, like sopas, instant noodles, and eggs.
