Do kids nowadays still get joy and excitement in playing parlor games the way we used to before? Or, do these parlor games still make their way to kiddie parties now or not anymore?
Back in the days, I remember how I get shy participating in parlor games. Yes, even a party coordinator now had her own share of wallflower/hiding-behind-mom moments then. But I eventually got the thrill of breaking that clay pot in ‘pukpok palayok’ which tested my still-confused sense of direction and in participating on relay games that can perfectly define how much of a ‘lampa’ I could be.
What parlor games were you a champion at when you where young?
Aside from pukpok palayok, there’s Trip to Jerusalem, charades, Simon Says, newspaper dance, The Boat is Sinking, and some relay games that requires you to befriend the most ‘bibo’ and ‘magilas’ kids in the room.
Games from noontime shows greatly influenced how parties were made fun these days. Like how everyone gets to play Pinoy Henyo and Hep Hep Hooray in various events.
