Lambanog. They say it’s a poor man’s drink. Not anymore, or rather, it could be everybody’s drink. I mean, for those who can handle it’s strength.

Have you tried drinking lambanog? I haven’t. I don’t even know if I would even try the pure one. It comes in different flavors now though – apple, bubblegum, orange, mint, four seasons, cherry, and many more.
With an alcohol content of 80-90 proof, which sometimes could go higher, can you handle lambanog’s strength?
For the ladies and the younger ones, you can actually do so – if it’s poured on a glass of ice cream! Yes, like that in Casa Rap.
But before any concerned citizen slams this article, we are not encouraging or recommending everyone to drink lambanog ha. Lambanog is among the popular products in Batangas that we are proud of. Being Batangueños, we pride ourselves that our province and Quezon are the top producers of lambanog.
So remember, if you can’t handle it, drink moderately. If you can handle it, still, drink moderately. And if ever you have that annoying hangover, take another tough drink of Batangueños – kapeng barako. 🙂
