Galilee Place Resort and Spa : Harboring a Great Deal of Leisure and Nature’s Best

We discovered a place where peaceful and enjoyable means almost the same thing. Galilee Place Resort and Spa offers you a different kind of retreat where being close to the wonders of nature spells happiness.

Galilee Place Resort and Spa in Balete, Batangas is a newly constructed recreation spot facing the vast tranquil Taal Lake and among the towns surrounding the humble Taal Volcano. This resort by the lake is the “sister resort” of Galilee Place in San Sebastian, Mataasnakahoy.

The team was fortunate to be welcomed by the owners of Galilee Place in Balete. Mr. Jay Ilagan (who also owns Galilee Place in Mataasnakahoy) and Ms. Mely Pitogo gladly shared their plans for the resort and provided such pleasant and let me say “generous” accommodation for our visit.

Galilee Place Resort and Spa is set to be the ‘Mini Boracay of the South’, with the plan of putting meters-deep of white sand on the stretch of the resort. Right now, the resort is on its first stages of construction with 20-plus cottages all lined-up along the breakwater, getting you closer to the lake. Apart from the cottages are the reception hall, the bar, and the stage, which are currently being finished for the resort’s grand opening on March 19, 2010.

When asked about the incorporation of spa services, Sir Jay explained its importance for guests who are looking for total relaxation. They wanted an all-in-one recreation spot but with the “masa” appeal. But having the mass appeal doesn’t mean giving less quality of service. Of course not. Galilee Palace Resort and Spa has big plans. And these big plans shall be done.

“One more thing that I like about this place is its location, We’ve got a number of entry points here. Meron tayong Daan from Sto. Tomas and Malvar, one from Lipa sa may Levi Town, the other one right there in Shakey’s area, kapag dineretso mo iyon, you’ll be led here, and dito rin sa Mataasnakahoy.” said Sir Jay.

Mr. Ilagan also mentioned that they are already accepting guests, reservations and bookings for different events. “If people want to experience the best of nature and enjoy at the same time, well, this is the right place. Sir Jay said. For those extra adventurous folks, they may take boat rides to Taal Volcano and witness the breath-taking crater of the smallest volcano in the world.

If you wonder what’s the difference between the two Galilees, the one in Mataasnakahoy is known for holding retreat, recollection, and team-building activities, while this one in Balete is made for recreation and water activities.

Experience relaxation as you indulge in the natural beauty of Batangas. Let Galilee Place Resort and Spa revitalize your senses and strengthen your bonding with your loved ones.

WOWBatangas Team’s review:

“Galilee Balete is a fresh experience for me. I’ve seen Taal Lake from different places and perspectives, and I have to admit that the view from Balete is the best one. In the morning, you’ll look at the lake with the sun behind you, which makes for great photos even for beginners. In the afternoon, the sun will set in front of you and into the mountains, and it’s the best sunset you’ll see in Batangas. What’s in between is just as good. Swimming in the lake is a scary experience if you are used to chlorine-treated swimming pools. Lumots are everywhere, along with snails and the occasional children’s diaper. If you look past these trivialities though, you’ll also find yourself swimming with the famous tawilis in probably the most famous volcanic lake in the world. With your friends nonetheless. The food in Galilee was great (pansit, pandesal and kapeng barako for breakfast, and grilled liempo, grilled tawilis and tilapia freshly caught from the lake, ginataang tulingan, ubod ng niyog with sauce, ripe mango and cold watermelon for lunch), and these are the same food that will be prepared for guests when they open on March 19th. Overall, I’d say you should visit Galilee this summer with your barkadas for a different experience. Don’t bring anything except extra clothing, and you’re in for a “back to basic” relaxation and enjoyment.” – JR

Relaxation is certainly at its best when you’re one with nature. My experience at Galilee Resort and Spa
gave me the best definition of the saying, “stop and smell the roses”. The magnificent view of the ‘greens’ and ‘blues’, the cool and fresh air, the vibrant sun, sumptous Pinoy food and the smiles from old fisher folks took all my stresses away.”
Gerlie

“I love going places where I could marvel on the beauty of nature. Geez, I’m a fan of their ginisang ubod! I can’t wait until the resort is finally completed.” – Dyan

– Alva

  1. I think this is really a nice place. I’d like to come here.
