The battle for the best show choir is on! This contest is open to any high school and college pop chorale groups composed of 6-12 members, age 14 to 19 years old.
HOW TO JOIN:
1. Interested schools must get their application form from SM City Batangas Admin Office – Marketing Department.
2. Application will start from July 1 and will close on July 29, 2010 at 1pm. An orientation/briefing with all competing groups may be – done on July 29 at the close of submission of entries.
3. A competing group should have a minimum of six members and maximum of 12.
4. Each group must attach the following requirements in their forms:
1. Original copy of the Certificate of Enrollment from the school
registrar (group certification)
2. Letter of endorsement from the school duly approved by the school
principal or Director of students affairs (group certification)
3. Certified True Copy of Birth Certificate for each member
4. Photocopy of latest school IDs complete with photo (SY 2010-2011)
PERFORMANCE MECHANICS:
1. Competing groups must perform two numbers of pop contemporary songs with dance choreography. The group may perform songs from any of the GLEE albums available under Sony Music.
2. A mash up of two songs is allowed per number as long as total
performance of each competing group will not exceed 8 minutes. A corresponding deduction of 2 points from the overall score will be applied for every excess of one minute in the Group’s performance.
3. Each group must perform with an accompaniment of minus one CD. Live musical instruments are not allowed.
4. The CD must be submitted at least 3 hours before competition and will be tested during sound check. Competition is on July 30* happening
simultaneously in all SM Supermalls.
5. There will be elimination round at SM City Batangas on July 30, 1 pm at The Event Center. The top two winning groups will receive Php 5,000 worth of shopping money and proceed to regional finals which will be held on Aug. 21 or 28.

Vocal Quality (Harmony, Blending and dynamics) 50%
Showmanship (Choreography and Stage presence)15%
Musicality (Rhythm, arrangement and song choice) 15%
Audience Impact 10%
Costume 10%
TOTAL 100%

What is GLEE?
The Generation GLEE Showchoir Competition is inspired by Glee, the US TV series. Not a fan of Glee? Glee is a hit musical drama/comedy series in the US which has been awarded several citations in various television award-giving bodies, one of which is Golden Globe Awards 2010 Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
