Rosario is the 9th oldest town of the province and called The Rice Granary of Batangas. Today, it is not only the major rice producer but also one of the premiere livestock towns of the province of the (31) thirty one municipalities and three (3) cities in Batangas. Rosario was the sixth largest in area and 4th most populous of the municipalities.
Rosario is favorably located within the most dynamic agro-industrial center of the 50 to 150 kilometer belt from Metro Manila. It has rich soil and is also rich in other natural resources. These enhance the town’s potentials for further growth and development, as another premiere town in the province.
The Provincial Government of Batangas has identified Rosario, one of the province’s special zones or growth corridors as an industrial estate under the CALABARZON Project. Rosario is envisioned to be the center of the Agro-Industrial Development in Southeastern Batangas.
