Apolinario Mabini
Mabini is also known as “the Sublime Paralytic” and “the Brains of the Revolution”.

Jose P. Laurel
Laurel is the third President of the Philippines
He was born in Tanauan on March 9, 1891. He became president during the World War II from 1943 to 1945. His presidency may be the most controversial one, stained with speculations of treason.
Claro M. Recto
Dubbed as “the finest mind of his generation”. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claro_M._Recto)
Recto became a Minority Leader of the Senate of the Philippines from 1931 to 1934. Aside from being a statesman, he is also a jurist, a poet, and an essayist and is also remembered as an excellent speaker.
Recto’s roots are from Rosario and Lipa City.
Ramon Diokno
Diokno hailed from Taal and was born on March 28, 1886. He served the government as senator from 1946 to 1949 and became an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
Teodoro M. Kalaw
A native of Lipa City, born on March 31, 1884. He was one of the most excellent trilingual writers and historian of the country. The period of 1900s to 1940s was considered as “Age of Kalaw” as Don Teodoro dominated this era with his historical writings and researches.
Teodoro Agoncillo
He was born in Lemery on November 9, 1912. Agoncillo was among the first and the most prominent Filipino historians.
Miguel Malvar
Malvar was born on September 27, 1865 in Sto. Tomas. He was a commander during the Philippine Revolution.
He was also dubbed as an Unofficial President of the First Philippine Republic when he replaced Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo in position when the latter was arrested by the Americans and was exiled in Hong Kong. Malvar was second in command

I appreciate very much seeing the notable Batanguenos in Wow Batangas website,as well as hearing the Batangan Hymn though I admit that being a Batangueno, I could not sing or recite the hymn by heart. I feel so guilty about this. It is never too late anyway to learn, as we say, learning is a continuing process. By the way, please correct the simple grammatical mistakes captioned below. Please change “in” to “on” as the date includes the day.
