Shop and dine while you wait for your passport to be released. Now how convenient can that be?
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) just inaugurated its consular office at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. This is the DFA-NCR East. Consular offices at Pacific Mall in Cebu, Marquee Mall in Angeles City and Robinsons Starmills in San Fernando, Pampanga, were the first DFA offices that opened in shopping malls.
Opening consular office in shopping malls is DFA’s way of bringing passport services closer to the public. Since shopping malls are one of the most frequented destinations in key areas in the country, this is a wise move for DFA as their services are now more accessible to people.
And that’s the convenience we are soon to experience as DFA will soom open one of its consular offices at Robinsons Place Lipa. This will be a huge advantage for the locals of Lipa City and other neighboring towns who find it quite a task to travel to Batangas City where DFA is currently serving the people of the province.
Other consular offices will soon open in the following malls: SM Manila, SM Baguio, SM Davao, Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Bacolod, Robinsons Dumaguete, Robinsons General Santos, Pacific Mall Legazpi, and Metro Gaisano Alabang.
Now that DFA’s passport services are closer to people in a more comfortable setting, we of course hope that all the plans of world-class and convenient passport application system be carried out effectively in all these consular offices.
