With the budding of wellness spas in Lipa City, how will you choose the one that suits you best?
We went to Royal Serenity Wellness Spa yesterday, learned about the services they offer and how it all started. Plus, we got to try some of their treatments!
From regular spa-goers to spa owners
Royal Serenity has been operating for a year now. According to Mon and LC King, what was supposed to be a food corner turned out to be a place where your wellness and relaxation are guaranteed.
LC, Mon’s wife, shared how they decided to give this business venture a go. Her first work was in an auditing firm in Makati where all the stressful workloads yielded to lingering back pain. She was advised by her physical therapist to have a massage day after every session to help relax her stressed muscles. Since then, they both became regular spa-goers who practically have jumped from one spa to another to try various massage treatments in between LC’s back therapy.
When they decided to settle here in Batangas, their everyday lives drastically changed but purposely to their advantage. They regularly visit one massage center in Lipa City where they met and became acquainted with the therapists there. Due to an unfortunate circumstance that led the spa to shut down, the King couple took the opportunity and welcomed the idea of starting their own wellness spa.
The idea was conceived with the therapists of the defunct spa expressing their interest in working for the couple.
Producing licensed and well-trained therapists
The Department of Health mandated that all wellness spas and massage centers in the country should have licensed and well-trained therapists. This is to professionalize these people rendering massage therapy, to legalize their services, and to ensure the protection of the clients.
The King couple adhered to that DOH direction and got everyone undergo training. They partnered with Bulacan Institute of Massage Therapy which is known for providing training for massage therapists and practitioners.

The design protocol of their services aims to give something familiar and something new to their clients. And being “spa addicts”, who have tried different massage treatments with different price tags, Mon and LC wanted to incorporate high quality services without the high cost. You might think the rates are a bit pricey but it’s worth it.
Royal Serenity Signature Massage is a fusion of Balinese massage and traditional Filipino hilot, acupressure, reflexology, and aromatherapy. This massage aims to loosen muscles, promote circulation, and stimulate the body’s ability to heal itself. Rates: 60 minutes – P400; 90 minutes – P600.
Walking Bentosa Massage got me curious. How is it different from the regular bentosa? The glass cups do not stay in place for the rest of the massage duration unlike in the regular bentosa we know. This means you won’t have that purplish round marks on your back for days. The ‘vacuuming’ moves all over your back for ample period, hence, the name of this massage. Rate: 90 minutes – P1,000.
The River Stone Massage goes beyond placing heated stones on areas of your back where tension and stress are forming. This is a powerful combination of hand and stone massage to calm, relax, and revive your body and mind. Rate: 120 minutes – P1,500.
Royal Serenity is more than just a massage spa.
