Lipa Fiesta 2009, Pagdiriwang sa Kaganapan ng Buhay- Lipeno

January 20, 2009 is not only a day for the inauguration of the now, US President Barack Hussein Obama, but here in the local setting, it is also the celebration of the feats of the Lipenos patron, St. Sebastian.

Early birds as what most of the people call the organizers of the said event. They don’t want to waste a single minute of their precious Fiesta celebration roaming around the road for the parade and miss the chance to taste different delicacies and variety of food and the exciting events that will be happening next to the procession. Colorful designs, eye- catching floats, talented dancers and performers, kids in costumes and attires, government officials and entities as well as NGOs, business entrepreneurs and advertising agencies and many more just like Radio personalities (GV99.9 FM) joined the parade that started at around 7:00 AM. Though there has been a small problem with the weather, the said parade can still be considered as a great one, just like last year.

The Lipa community seemed to gather themselves in St. Sebastian Cathedral where hundreds of newly born children were christened and were welcomed to the Christian world at the same day. Crowded as the church may look like but that’s just a way of showing the religious side of the Lipenos. After that, various events were held everywhere, like in SM where EVA FONDA (Christine Reyes) was invited. Beforehand, Hale was in Robinson’s Lipa last January 19. Aside from that, MUTYA ng LIPA was again held which is one of the most catching events that was held that day. Though there’s no more “bangketa” around the streets of Lipa City unlike last year, the LIPA CITY FIESTA is still an outstanding celebration.
