Asean Convergence – Secondary School Summit Day 1

Eighteen (18) students from different ASEAN states are chosen to be part of a 3-day summit starting today, February 21 to 23, 2019 held.

Day 1 at LIMA Park Hotel, Malvar Batangas.

Delegates received the warmest welcome from FAITH, the organizer of the said event. As part of welcoming them here in Batangas, they are required to introduce themselves with each other by telling a little bit about themselves like names, states they are representing or even their favorite food.

Ms. Clarissa Delgado, Co-founder, and CEO of Teach for the Philippines happily discussed the humble beginnings of Teach for the Philippines.
Teach for the Philippines is a for-purpose, non-stock, non-profit organization that works to provide all Filipino children with access to relevant and excellent education.

The second part of the session is about the significant role of the youth to the ASEAN discussed by ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Office of the ASEAN Affairs Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Aian Caringal while Mr. Jeroen Schedler, Chair Executive Committee, Passage to ASEAN tells the importance of harmony and youth’s role on the future of the ASEAN.

To close the Day one of the said event, Executive Vice President at First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities (FAITH), Juan P. Lozano discussed FAITH’s programs and events to support the ASEAN and bring the different states closer to each other and let students learn more from it.

The students are also set to tour around Batangas to learn more about our culture and to see our stunning religious and tourists spots. This 3-day event will surely be filled with fun, learning, sharing, and camaraderie.
