Murata, DOST-TAPI bring tech innovations closer to Tanaueño students through Invent School Program

Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata, Inc. (PMM) and the Department of Science and Technology- Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) partnered up for the Invent School Program held at Talaga Central School in Tanauan City, Batangas.

The program aimed to spread Science and Technology knowledge through fun-filled activities. The Invent School Program (ISP) serves as a platform for the youth to awaken their true ingenuity by stimulating their interest in creativity and inventiveness. Topics include Creativity, Creative Thinking, Ideation Tools and Techniques, Invention Development, Prototyping and Awareness, Prior Arts Search, and Basic Patent Drafting.

Atty Rizalnino Noble, Senior Science Specialist of DOST-TAPI and program manager of Invent School Program, noted that research shows that the creativity of today’s Filipino Youth does not exactly soar with flying colors. “Mababa talaga s’ya.”

“With Invent School Program, we want to create new inventors, researchers, and scientists,” Noble furthered. Invent School Program has elementary students as participants. Through ISP, TAPI encourages the youth to be creative and later on take up the STEM track in Senior High School ultimately meeting their goal of producing people who would contribute to the country’s science and technology industry,

On the other hand, Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata, Inc., a producer of multilayer ceramic capacitors and other components, exhibited its Murata Discover Electricity Kit for a hands-on experience for eager learners. “We are demonstrating our commitment to inspiring the next generation of innovators, ” remarked Len Tumulac, PMM Junior Section Manager of CSR Team.

“The sessions with DOST-TAPI and PMM were fun and full of new experiences for our students,” noted, Ms. Florife Perez, Master Teacher from Talaga Central School. The school also extends its sincerest gratitude to DOST-TAPI and PMM for the meaningful and inspiring experiences the Invent School Program has brought to their learners.

This program pushes forth the advocacy of PMM and DOST-TAPI to bridge the gap between technological advancements, discoveries, and the Filipino youth.
