Last March 27, 2010 at exactly 8:30pm, SM City Batangas joined once more the rest of Batangas community for an hour of darkness in observance of the Earth Hour as a symbolic call for united action against climate change.
Shoppers, mall tenants and SM employees gathered at the front covered walk of the mall to witness and take part in the ceremonial switch off countdown at exactly 8:29pm. Part of the activity also was the glow in the dark performance by Lyceum of the Philippines University Batangas.
SM City Batangas officially switched off 100% of the mall’s parking perimeter lights that includes, billboard lights, dropdown banners, ad boxes, mall logo and tenants signage’s and 50 % of the mall’s interior lights.
Earth Hour is a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community throughout the world. It is a call to stand up, to take responsibility, to get involved and lead the way towards a sustainable future.
Meanwhile, we in WOWBatangas believe that we could contribute a lot by doing this, the EARTH hour everyday. Saglit lang naman ang isang oras, hindi tuong mahirap.
