Yesterday, we received an invitation from a certain Jeneth Catapang of Batangas City for the Fun Rare Run 2010 Ala Eh!. The said event is for the benefit of children with rare disorders and will happen on December 18, 2010 at the Plaza Independencia, Lipa City.
This is a joint project of Jeneth and Pam Roman of Lipa City. Jeneth has two children with Osteogenesis Imperfecta or Brittle Bone Disease. Osteogenesis imperfecta, commonly called brittle bone disease, is a disease that causes a defect in the production of a protein called collagen. — orthopedics.about.com
Pam on the other hand, has a daughter with Rett Syndrome. Rett syndrome is a unique development disorder; causes problems in brain function that are responsible for cognitive, sensory, emotional, motor and autonomic function. These can include learning, speech, sensory sensations, mood, movement, breathing, cardiac function, and even chewing, swallowing, and digestion. — www.rettsyndrome.org
This is a fundraising event for the birthday celebration of these two mothers’ children, on Dec. 19 and 21. It will also be for the benefit of children with rare disorders.
Proceeds for this event will be donated to the Philippine Society for Orphan Disorders (PSOD) and the Breathe Initiative, two non-profit NGO’s that facilitates the support & welfare of Filipino Children with Rare Disorders.
Let’s take part in this worthy event and make these children’s Christmas a merrier one. 😉
Oh ! So, we – spearheaded by McKinley International School in cooperation with the Visayan Forum, UNICEF, the Batangas Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Up Up Batangas, the Philippine Action Group for Social Responsibility, among others we are still inviting to join, are staging a WALK FOR LIFE – CHILDREN’S RIGHTS on Dec. 15 from the San Sebastian Cathedral, Lipa City from 6 a.m. On Dec. 18 – they are then inviting people to Run .. I guess it’s a natural progression… from walking to running in three days.
