A text messages I once received says something like this: “The highest place in this world is found at the feet of Jesus.” We find ourselves at His feet when we are at prayer. It is the best place to be. We must learn to sit at His feet to learn from Him. Too often we only rely on what we know. Yet we fail to realize that what we know is not always the best. And the way we see things may not always be the best.
We must learn to see things from a different perspective. If we can only try to run to Him and seek His wisdom, we can take a look at our situation, whatever it may be, from a better and clearer standpoint. That makes a big difference. Sometimes we see only what we want to see. We tend to be blind to things we do not want to perceive. In that way we are not fully in touch with reality.
With Jesus at our side there is nothing too fearsome to confront. We don’t have to face life alone. And when all our hope is gone, the best thing to do is find that hope at His feet. This is the opportunity that moments of prayer afford us. If you don’t feel like praying, you have to give it one more try. If you find yourself too busy to pray, that indicates that you have more reasons to pray. Run to Jesus. Sit at His feet. It is a place of refuge when the going gets rough.
