I have learned how to smoke when I was in my college freshman year. My friends, being the barakos that they are, would smoke every break… every 10 minute break.
And so I was the only one who didn’t smoke. And I was laughed about.
“mag yosi ka na p’re, pwede gang ikaw lang ang hinde?”, they kid me half insultingly.
No one wants to be laughed about, right?
I could clearly remember the day when Marlboro Menthol and I met. That day was a day full of coughing and sneezing and all that crap.
But that was it, I learned it and quit it thereafter.
I would sometimes ask myself, what does smoking give us aside from that cool vibe?
After finding these facts, I now have a hard time answering that question of mine.
(These are statements that I have found on the net:)
A study found that dogs in smoking households had a 60 percent greater risk of lung cancer; a different study
showed that long-nosed dogs, such as collies or greyhounds, were twice as likely to develop nasal cancer if they lived with smokers.Cigarette butts take about 25 years to decompose.
Tobacco products are the only legal consumer products that are LETHAL when used exactly as the manufacturer intends.
There are 69 known carcinogens in cigarettes.
Every ten seconds, somewhere in the world, someone dies of tobacco-related causes. Tobacco kills more Americans each year than alcohol, cocaine, crack, heroin, homicide, suicide, car accidents, fire and AIDS combined.

Mind you, no one has died of trying to live a healthy lifestyle. Unless, of course, if you choke on a mango seed or something.
But to those who keep a filthy lifestyle, you know you are asking for the limitations of your body. God knows what lies ahead of you. And with the availability of information nowadays, I think you should not know any lesser.
i think, quitting or starting, is and should be a personal choice. it’s my lungs i’m burning anyway.
