DOT, Confident with “Pilipinas, Tara Na!” Slogan

After the much slammed “Pilipinas, Kay Ganda” the Department of Tourism has come up with a new campaign slogan to promote Philippine tourism. Tantaraaaaaaan! “Pilipinas, Tara Na!”

Now, what do you think?

A lot of people had criticized DOT’s attempt to use “Pilipinas, Kay Ganda” due to “plagiarism” issues of the logo and all. This slogan was intended to attract foreign tourists to come over to the Philippines to see for themselves the beauty of the Pearl of the Orient.

Did the purpose of coming up with a new slogan change? Because with “Pilipinas, Tara Na!”, DOT aims to persuade Filipinos to travel within the country first before exploring the sites and magnificence of other countries.

“Pilipinas, Tara Na!” translated in English is “Philippines, Let’s Go!”.

Let’s go where? Let’s go to the Philippines. That’s it, right? Since DOT pushes to strengthen local tourism, Filipinos would roam around Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

How much of this new campaign is meant for foreign tourists?

This new campaign will be launched come summertime. Share your thoughts. 🙂
