Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata, Inc., a developer and producer of electronic products based in Sto Tomas City,Batangas, and Erovoutika, an automation and robotics company, partnered to create Murata Robolution: Robotics and Automation Competition, which was participated in by schools from within and outside the province of Batangas.

The contest, held in First Philippine Industrial Park in Sto. Tomas City, was participated in by Lutucan Integrated National High School, Batangas City Integrated High School, FAITH, DLSU-Dasmarinas and Lipa City Integrated National High School.

“Napakahalaga po nito,” Batangas City Integrated High School Teacher and Coach Ms. Basilisa Isla noted in an interview with WowBatangas.com. “Mas pinapalalim pa nito ang kanilang experience… with this they’ll be more competitive hindi lang dito, internationally din.”

On the other hand, Murata Inc. Administration Director Mr. Mitsuki Notsu remarked that this type of competition helps discover and develop future engineers and, ultimately, will support the development of Filipino society.

Moreover, Erovoutika’s Noel Deplomo assured that one of the contest’s goals—to ensure real world application of knowledge learned from school— is implemented: “Sa contest na ito, mahahasa yung alam ng mga bata at magkakaroon ng real word application ‘yung mga natutunan nila sa schools.”

But for the participants, it was not all about competitiveness and challenges as it was also about fun and camaraderie. “Ginagawa namin ito hindi lang po para manalo, pero dahil gusto ko din po namin itong gawin,” Jayron Gabinete answered when asked what made Robolution fun and interesting.

The following is a list of Murata Robolution: Robotics and Automation Competition winners:
