This is the week when students make the most of what’s left of their summer vacation. Summer isn’t over til it’s over, my dear students. So before you enter the ‘gates of hell’ gates of your new/old school, might as well give time to think on how lucky you are for having the chance to get an education.
This article should have been about some tips on how to welcome the incoming school year with genuine enthusiasm but I somehow lost the sense of it for the very reason that I am no longer a student. Ha!
Earlier this morning, while thinking of a back-to-school pakulo for our Facebook page supporters, nostalgia hit me again and I got to recall the school supplies that were such a big hit when I was in grade school (and high school). Status symbol or whatever, these school items once made a lot of kids popular in their class, giving them more pasikat moments to write on their yearbook profile. Haha.
Troll pencil toppers
I had one! Yes, one lang. While some got two or three or one different Troll each day of the school week. Girls find them adorable and boys just didn’t get it. Totally not advisable for those who absentmindedly chew the end of their pen. 😉
Gel pens
Sooo much of my high school days. The more gel pens, the prettier! Again, the boys didn’t get it. But I remember some classmates who would ask us girls to design the cover pages of some projects with our gel pens. Ha! Pretty and functional go together in this item.
Colorful erasers
And sometimes scented! They come in different designs which are so fun to collect. One that I will never get over with is that eraser that smells and looks like Bazooka bubble gum!
Push-up pencil
Best buddy of those who can’t sharpen their pen perfectly for heaven’s sake. Lose one piece and you’re doomed. Haha. And I don’t know what this is really called so I can’t Google it for a photo download!
Pencil case
The guys are fond of the stainless ones while the girls prefer the ones with other ‘compartments’, both designed with popular cartoon characters.
Stationery sets
Yeah, where puppy love notes were written.
Hmmm. Seems like like a very girly list. Anyways, do you have your own favorite school supply when you were a kid? Share us your list!
